At 20:40, Greater Manchester Police requested the Team’s assistance on the gird locked M66 motorway. Why was it grid locked, there had been a moderate snowfall and cars were stuck and abandoned. The Team were to be used for their experience in 4×4 vehicles and driving in snow.
At 22:00 Hrs the Police informed the Team their services were no longer required as the motorway was freely flowing now. So a full stand down was put in place and people returned home to the warmth.
