Two BMRT Dog Teams answered a late night request to help with an early morning search in Eskdale, Cumbria from SARDA, Lakes. It was for two female walkers, who were overcome by poor weather & one had slipped an injured herself on ice. Together with Chi & Blue were 2 BMRT Navigators for them, Keswick MRT, Langdale Ambleside MRT, Wasdale MRT, RAF Leeming MRT, Cockermouth MRT, Duddon & Furness MRT, Penrith MRT and SARDA Lakes & England, together with 2 RAF SAR Sea King Helicopters from RAF Valley & RAF Boulmer.
The females were found by the RAF helicopter from Boulmer and evacuated to hospital. In total, there were approx. 120 Mountain Rescue personnel involved in this very large area search, some involved for 19 hours from the start. Our teams finally made it home to Bolton 15 Hours after starting out at 03.45 Hrs.
