During our routine Wednesday Night training exercise (Unseasonly cold with heavy rain and nil visibility mist). The Team was contacted by LanCon to respond to a 999 call to a person injured on Winter Hill. Our Team Leader was able to contact the casualties party and establish it was a mountain biker with a serious knee injury. The Team was immediately redeployed from the exercise to the area of the San Marino restaurant in Belmont. Team members then went up a hillside track on the side of Winter Hill along with responding Police Officers and a GMAS crew from Bolton North ambulance station. Team members administered pain killing drugs on scene and in atrocious weather conditions stretcher evacuated the male casualty down to the road side.
BMRT treat the casualty, who is under the Blue KISU in this atrocious weather.
A GMAS ambulance transferred the casualty to Royal Bolton Hospital. (This was almost identical scenario and location to incident 45/2004 which happened exactly a week ago)
BMRT & GMAS transfer the casualty into the waiting ambulance.
