Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

25th August 2004

At 09:13 Hrs LAS called out the Team, along with our colleagues in BPMRT & RPMRT to go to full standby status, in the case of the Bolton Team, at Darwen Ambulance station, with regards to the severe flood risk affecting a large part of East Lancashire, as a result of very heavy overnight rain falls leaving local rivers at full capacity. 4 Team vehicles responded alongside our Deputy Team Leader with Kayak and a shallow draft boat. This whole operation was co-ordinated by Lancashire Constabulary. As the morning progressed the heavy rains eased and the risk of imminent flooding receded. At noon all three MRT’s were stood down, and by 12:30 we had returned to our base locations.
