Whilst the team was responding to the previous incident, our Team Leader was contacted by Lancashire Constabulary, who requested the urgent assistance of the team for a search involving a despondent male, in the area of Turton & Entwistle reservoir. Whilst we were taking details of this incident, the Team was stood down from the previous incident and the 27 Team members and search dog Chi were redirected to Greens Arms Road, at its junction with the A666. Handler Dave Marsh and search dog Chi were deployed immediately, alongside various LANCON resources including a police dog team. As the rest of the Team assembled at a nearby car park (excluding our Team Leader Garry – who by now was already dealing with incident 76/2004!!), the man was sighted by the police and our search dog team, and was subsequently brought back to the Police control point, safe and well.
This search was a milestone celebration for our SARDA Dog Team of handler Dave Marsh and his Search Dog Chi, this being their 100th operational call out as a dog team operating with SARDA and Bolton MRT (over this time Dave and Chi have had 3 successfully finds).
