The team has previously benefitted from a close working relationship and involvement with Derek Cartwright, in his former role as Operational Director of Greater Manchester Ambulance Service and now since Ambulance Service reorganisation and regionalisation, serving as the North West Ambulance Service Operational Director for the Cumbria and Lancashire Area.
This evening we were pleased to receive as a guest of the team the Operational Director for the North West Ambulance Service, Greater Manchester Area, Delwyn Wray, who was very keen to meet up with our Team Leader Garry Rhodes and Deputy Leader Geoff Seddon, to continue to maintain the close working relationship we had with his predecessor (albeit under the guise of GMAS) Derek Cartwright.
Delwyn is no stranger to the team, having worked alongside us (or rather we with him) on many operational incidents over the years. (he is also a local hillwalker)
Principally his visit this evening was to continue to develop the strong operational links we have with NWAS (GMA) and to forge new initiatives and discuss the many new developments and directions now taking place within NWAS and on a more specific basis NWAS (GMA) and how the Bolton MRT would interact with these.
The team is very proud of its special links and relationships with NWAS, both within the Greater Manchester and Lancashire areas, and meetings at this high officer level are much appreciated by the team, and enable both our services to continue along a path of very close understanding, mutual support and dual working which together enhence the already excellent service to casualties we mutually provide.
