At 15:25 this afternoon, NWAS (Lancashire Area) contacted our Team Leader by mobile phone to request the team’s services with the report of a 17 year old female suffering from heat exhaustion and stomach pains in the Earnsdale Reservoir area below the moorland slopes of Darwen Tower.

Four crewed team Landrover vehicles and our Team Leader responded to this incident (in total, 17 team members), along with an NWAS (Lancashire) ambulance from Blackburn.

Our first vehicle arrived on scene at 15:53 at the same time that the NWAS emergency ambulance arrived.

The female casualty in a party of three other people was quickly assessed and with assistance was able to walk to the responding NWAS ambulance. All other vehicles responding were stood down (most very close to the RVP).
