Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

5th October 2008

The team was contacted at circa 13.26hrs this afternoon, by NWAS (GMA) to ask if the team could assist NWAS (GMA) with an incident in Horwich, as the team had pre notified NWAS Control they were in the nearby area, and due to a peak demand situation 999 ambulance cover in the immediate area was not available at this exact time.

A response was made by a team Landrover Ambulance, which coincidentally at the time had a Doctor on board who was out with the team to find out what we do.
An elderly lady had fallen outside, in the Horwich area, sustaining a suspected fractured right ankle.

She was treated on scene by the crew of the Landrover, who splinted her suspected fractured ankle.

A Team Landrover Ambulance then transported this lady direct to Royal Bolton Hospital for further treatment.
