Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

9th June 2011

This afternoon our President Bob Hutchinson visited St Osmund and St Andrews County Primary School, Falkirk Drive, Breightmet, Bolton, after being kindly invited to talk to the children about ’Safety on the Hills’. Bob was met by Mr Steve Kay and after a cup of introductory tea was surprised to learn he was speaking to up to 180 children not the 30-40 in one class that he is used to!

Then along to the main assembly hall where years 3,4,5 & 6 gathered to hear Bob speak. The children were good listeners and after half an hour or so began to ask some excellent questions until eventually the teaching staff had to call a halt to proceedings with many hands still going up to raise new questions.

The time had flown by. The visit ended with the children being led outside to have a look around one of our new vehicles (BM1) which they found to be very impressive especially when the blue lights were switched on and the siren deafened all around.
