This evening eight members from our very long supportive friends at Darwen Dashers Running Club visited us at our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ.
Arriving at 19.30hrs the eight were welcomed by our Team Leader Garry Rhodes MBE, who immediately displayed his tea and coffee making skills for our guests. (He failed to find any biscuits though!)
All were then introduced to team Call Out list member David Cook, who is also one of our ‘water team trained’ members.
Following a brief overview of the team by Garry, all eight were then shown a short DVD on Mountain Rescue in England and Wales ‘the facts and figures.’
David Cook then presented his power point presentation on the Bolton MRT, with many questions being raised – and answered during the presentation.
Their visit ended with a brief look at our two Ladybridge Hall garaged Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulance vehicles, call signs Bolton Mobile 3 and 4.
Garry and David would like to thank all from Darwen Dashers Running Club who attended tonight for their obvious interest shown in the work of the team.
We provide standby rescue cover for many Darwen Dashers events on the local moors, on Sunday 24th November 2013 we will be present providing such for the Darwen Dashers Running Club organised ‘David Staff Memorial Charity Fell Race,’ held on Darwen Moor.
