The team has been successful in obtaining a grant for £8,420 arising from an application made to their “Strengthening Communities Fund” in June 2016.
The funds are granted for our team to provide flood & water rescue equipment and training and will give us the ability to provide even more trained and equipped resources to water & flood rescue incidents.
Regular readers may be aware that towards the end of December 2015 our team attended three major flooding incidents at Lancaster, Prestolee and Lower Broughton.

BMRT members wade onto Riverside Drive, Prestolee, to evacuate residents trapped in their homes – 26/12/2015
This grant from the Community Foundation for Lancashire will be primarily used to provide equipment and training for team members, to the value of £6,920.
The remaining £1,500 from the grant will be used to purchase an all-terrain buggy from our colleagues at Rossendale & Pendle MRT, who have recently upgraded their ATV vehicle and offered the surplus vehicle for sale to our team.
