Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

2nd June 2011

This evening, under clear blue skies, 24x team members (plus our five team vehicles) provided Standby Rescue Cover for the fifth year running for the Hendersons End Fell Race which takes in a large circuit of the Rivington and Winter Hill moorlands.

The fell race, organised by Lostock Athletics Club, was well attended by 4x entrants in the Junior Race event and 99x entrants in the Senior Race event.

Excellent running conditions provided some extremely quick race timings and even the usually abundant local biting midges stayed away, so nothing spoilt this evening’s event.

Thankfully we had no incidents arising on this event, and with only one retirement from the race, escorted from Winter Hill in our vehicle BM3, the event was completed by 21:30 hours.
