With fourteen Team call Out list members visiting two NWAS Emergency Control Centre’s this evening, thirteen other Team call Out list members welcomed a Guest Lecturer to our Ladybridge Hall Base / HQ to deliver a very comprehensive lecture on ’Airway Management.’
Mark Hellaby introduced himself in his current capacity as Simulation Training Co-Ordinator for the Warrington and Halton Hospital Trusts, and briefly outlined his impressive CV, including his work overseas and with ATAAC.
He then delivered a very interesting and comprehensive presentation on airway management, followed by ’hands on’ practical work with various airways and differing training manikins, including a child manikin with sound outputs to simulate airway issues!
All present by the end of the excellent evening had gained greater familiarity with Oropharyngeal Airways, Nasopharyngeal Airways and iGel Airways and the use of ’Bag and Mask,’ and Suction Equipment.
The team would like to thank Mark Hellaby for visiting this evening and the excellence of his presentation.
