Team member Fred Taylor was today invited to the Chorley studio of the voluntary radio station Chorley FM, taking with him the ’Mountain Rescue Hummer’ to give a live broadcast interview on the role of the team in this our 40th Anniversary Year, and Mountain Rescue in its 75th Anniversary Year.
Fred Taylor also made mention of our colleagues in Bowland Pennine MRT, Rossendale and Pendle MRT, Oldham MRT and Cheshire LSART who all provide a voluntary search and rescue service in this part of the north west, alongside the Bolton MRT.
The interview broadcast at 13.15hrs ended with an appeal for support and funding from voluntary donations, with Chorley FM kindly offering to act as a collection point for any public donations that listeners wished to make.
The team wishes to express its thanks to all at Chorley FM for their obvious interest in our team and the work of MRTs and LSARTs in the north west.
