Jolly Crofters Fundraising Team

8th June 2008

At 12:19 the team was paged to attend an off-road motorcycle incident at an organised motocross event in the Morleys Lane area of Astley Green, Wigan.

With the report of the cyclist having suffered a serious leg injury, our Team Leader and Landrover ambulance BM3 diverted from the previous incident to attend this one.

A full team callout was then paged for other members to attend this incident (at this stage the previous incident, 67/2008, was still in progress).

At 12:36 with the Wayoh Reservoir incident stood down, all resources were switched to this incident. At 12:48 our Team Leader and BM3 vehicle were first to arrive on scene, but with the help of other off-road motorcycle enthusiasts, the ambulance crew had managed to evacuate the 46 year old casualty (with a very serious leg injury) to the ambulance and we were stood down.

In total four team Landrover ambulances responded to this incident along with 28 team members.
