At 10:20 hours this morning our Team Leader was contacted by Greater Manchester Police for the teams assistance in an urgent search for a missing 75 year old woman.
The circumstances surrounding the womans disappearance were giving the police cause for concern and as a result police urgent searches were already underway centred on the Agecroft area (Salford) of the River Irwell and the nearby wooded areas.
A full team page was sent at 10:31 hours on this workday / worktime callout.
Experienced team search coordinator Dave Healey jointly organised a search with a Police Missing Person Search Manager.
Alongside divisional police resources and PCSOs, 18 team members took part in the search operations including our Deputy Leader, Geoff Seddon, with his canoe.
Our part in the search commenced with searches of the River Irwell and other water bodies at 12:20 hours with all police tasked areas completed by 16:10 hours.

By tea time our part in the search operation was concluded with a negative result, with police enquiries continuing to try and locate this woman.
