NWAS (LL) contacted the Team Leader directly asking for assistance, with the evacuation of a casualty from a residential address. The casualty was suffering from suspected ’C’ Spine injuries.
The Ambulance crew on scene were concerned for the short carry from the casualty’s home to the ambulance, bearing in mind the icy and snow covered front garden and the gentlemans size.
A very careful and gentle carry of the casualty, placed on a longboard – with full head immobilisation, was conducted from his front door to the waiting ambulance.
It was a successful carry by the eleven Team members present and it was nice to be working alongside a NWAS (LL) Paramedic, whom we have worked with before.
