At 16:18, GMAS contacted the team for assistance, following reports of a man who had fallen into a ditch on a moorland path. A very fast team response was made by locally based team members, who arrived at the Wildersmoor location, just off George’s Lane, on the road to Rivington Pike, at the same time as the responding GMAS ambulance. The 60 year old man involved, despite having a suspected ankle fracture had managed to limp off the moor to meet team members and the ambulance on George’s Lane. Team members responding in 2 team Landrovers, as well as direct from home and work locations were stood down responding.
