GMAS paged the team at 03:48 this morning, and requested us to attend an RTA on the M6, where a vehicle had left the carriageway and flipped onto its roof, coming to rest down a motorway embankment.
Our first vehicle went mobile from base within 15 minutes, and team members met up with the 2 GMAS crews on scene. We were asked to carry the 2 casualties, both on spine boards, to the hard shoulder – this was a very short carry but because of the steepness of the embankment it was not possible to be done by the crews on scene.
