The team was contacted (initially) by staff at Great House Barn Information Centre, following a report to the centre from a concerned woman, that her partner had gone camping in the Rivington area, and had not returned or contacted home. Our Deputy Leader, Geoff Seddon contacted the woman, and then Lancashire Constabulary.
A search involving Police Officers, members of United Utilities Ranger Service, and eight team members was made of the Rivington area. As plans were being considered to scale up the search, the missing camper was located by Police, outside the Rivington area.
