At 21:16, GMAS called us out, to what became a large scale multi agency response to the report received via GMCFS of a hot air balloon crashing in the area of Delph reservoir in the West Pennine Moors. GMAS, GMCFS, GMP and BMRT all responded (ourselves with 4 vehicles and 28 members), but it was fortunately quickly established that the balloon had not crashed, and that no persons were injured. The balloon had landed where they didn’t want to – in some trees on the edge of the reservoir! Along with other resources we were stood down responding, 16 minutes after getting the first call.
The scene at Incident 60/2003, shortly before the BMRT resources were stood down.
