Sunday 27th April: Whilst exercising in Anglezarke Quarry on Sunday afternoon, we were alerted by a member of the public who reported a collapsed woman in Leicester Mill Quarry, directly opposite to where we were. Response parties were quickly despatched, meeting an LAS Chorley crew who had been called to the scene (just as we were about to call them!). Helimed 08 was stood down responding, as the woman’s condition improved enough to allow her to be walked (with support) to the waiting LAS vehicle. 13 team members in total attended (two more were left to de-rig our crag rescue exercise in Anglezarke Quarry), all being in scene within 5 minutes from the first notification.
