At 11:28, Lancashire Ambulance Service paged the team, requesting our assistance following a 999 call for a collapsed female, on an icy footpath near to the Pigeon Tower, Rivington – the woman had suffered a cardiac arrest. Working alongside paramedics from GMAS and LAS, team members assisted giving CPR and simultaneously used a Bell mountain rescue stretcher to evacuate the casualty to the roadhead, into a waiting ambulance. Unfortunately the woman was pronounced dead, at Chorley Hospital, on arrival.
