Support Our Team
Thank you, for thinking of donating to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team. Every donation, no matter the size, goes towards our team’s vital work.
As an entirely voluntary service, we serve our community constantly and have been doing so since 1968. But to be able to provide this essential service we are entirely reliant on donations from those who value the work we do.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team needs over £50,000 a year to operate, all of which is gained through fundraising by generous members of the public and organisations. We need to raise this money every year to simply remain operational – that’s over £140 a day on average! In some years this cost will be even higher, for example, if specialist equipment needs replacing.
In addition to making one off or regular donations, there are many other ways that you can raise funds for the team. Here are some great examples:
Corporate charity or sponsorships
If you own or work for a business in our area, we would love to have a chat about how we can work together to raise some money for the team. This may be having Bolton MRT as your chosen charity for the year, or even being a regular recipient of any fundraising you do. Please email our Fundraising Officer fo@boltonmrt.org.uk to arrange a call or meeting to discuss how we can work together.
Sponsored events
Many people choose to raise money by taking part in events such as marathons, trail races, swimming, or walking. If you are thinking of raising money for the team please email our Fundraising Officer for a copy of our digital fundraising kit fo@boltonmrt.org.uk
Collection tins
The team have almost 100 collection tins across our area and these account for almost £4,000 worth of donations each year. If you are the owner of a business or retail outlet and would like one of our collection tins, please email our Fundraising Officer fo@boltonmrt.org.uk
Leaving a legacy
When you leave a gift in your will to Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, you help ensure that we can continue to provide help to those people who need it most. The simplest way of doing this is contacting a solicitor to create a will or update an existing one. The Law Society has a useful database of solicitors. Just visit The Law Society website.
